Ramadan 2018: How to get your children involved!

As the Ramadan countdown comes to an end and we enter into this blessed month, I would like to take the opportunity to share with you some of what I have put together for my 5-year-old daughter to do throughout the month. SubhanaAllah, she is now old enough to understand what this beautiful month is about and comes to me with so many questions! Although your kids may be too young to keep fasts, there are still plenty of other ways to engage them with the month of Ramadan. InshAllah, this compilation of activities and lessons will be of benefit to you and your children this Ramadan.

  1. A “What is Ramadan?” Booklet

The Ramadan booklet is great for kids between the ages of 4-8, as they can read it by themselves and do the crossword and word search. For my daughter and other children between the ages of 4-6, mommy or daddy can help them to read and understand the booklet and do the fun crossword and word search!

Here is a preview of the booklet, you can Click Here to Download the full document.

5. Mini Hadith Booklet.

I created this Mini Hadith booklet to help children understand why it is important to be kind and well mannered. Often we tell our children to never tell lies but forget to mention that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has warned us that it will lead us to Jahanum. This booklet has 15 hadith all concerning good manners and habits, my 5-year-old daughter and I are going to be learning, understanding and memorizing these hadith during this Ramadan and you can do the same!!
